Loading assets on first use of app

#1

Hi !
I am building an app with a lot of sounds files… When i tell a lot, i am speaking of about 1000 files. As you told me, i am thinking to an issue to load them on first opening of the app. But i’m not sure how to do.
I’ve found this method (on screenshot)

but will i have to do the list of all the assets to load ???
Can’t i just simply say the app on first use to download a file on drive and add everything in the assets file ?
If you have a tutorial to help it would be great
thank you!

you found the following solution https://puravidaapps.com/filebyfile.php
btw. it’s always a good idea to share the link to the source…

you might want to follow the tip in Q5 here https://puravidaapps.com/filebyfile.php#q about how to simplify this for loads of files…

test.aia (8.5 KB)
this is my .aia file

After several research it seems to be a problem of permission…
because testing on companion works well
but when i try to build apk and test it
“the permission write_external_storage has been denied”

#7

use the AskForPermission method from the Screen drawer and ask for WRITE_EXTERNAL:STORAGE permission
