I did this, and they refused

I have a question. What can you do if a company in Europe while resident in the U.S doesn’t delete your account from their product? I asked this once, and they refused to do so. Instead they made it so I couldn’t do this at all.

GDPR only applies to European Residents.

You need to look at the terms and conditions of their site, and see if there is anything in there that can be done.

Another thing you can do is ask them to at the very least obfuscate your identity. It is a huge problem for things like Discourse, because the chains and threads are so user based and user driven.

  1. Ask nicely.
  2. Refer to their terms.
  3. Ask at the very least they obfuscate.

In the TOS of their site, it doesn’t state any contact information about what you can do if you’d like your account deleted or information hidden. On their main site though it says that I can contact support@******.*** if I have concerns or questions.

UPDATE #1

Awaiting response.

UPDATE #2

Got a response back from the automated system saying thanks for sending the email, by the way, very welcome… and that it was only for technical issues :frowning:
